Form, surface and shadow are an integral part of my artworks. These Tanekaha pieces are an expression of this and the intention to make a strong mark.
The leaves sit closely at the intersection between 2D and 3D, being cut canvas they are flat .. then they are hung on gallery pins, which holds them out from the wall, giving movement and shadow, reminiscent of the dappled forest.
